HTIA - FULL INSTRUCTOR Certification Requirements

-- Four weeks of training are required.

-- Instructor trainees [after their prerequisite 70 hours] must fulfill two weeks of Training with Master Chia at any location.

Trainees must take the remaining two weeks, or 80 hour equivalent, with other Senior Instructors in the core Healing Tao courses here in the United States: Basics, Fusion, Tai Chi Chi Kung and Iron Shirt Chi Kung.

-- To become certified as a Full Instructor, applicants must meet all prerequisites.

-- Trainees may take two or more summers to complete all course requirements, during which time they may hold an Associate Instructor status. (if qualified)

-- Private study with other Senior Instructors here in the United States are applicable towards some of your prerequisites. Tape Instruction is not applicable. Training hours of Instruction with a teacher are necessary. What is applicable are private lessons, weekend workshops or classes - Forty hours of training will be equal to one full retreat week of training.

-- Trainees must test and be certified for each separate Healing Tao course that they want to teach. Passing the Microcosmic Orbit Certification test is necessary for being an Associate Instructor and a prerequisite for all other course testing as a Full Instructor.

To be certified in Healing Love or Fusion I, applicants must first complete Full Instructor Training and be certified in either Iron Shirt I or Tai Chi I, and have one year of teaching experience in the Microcosmic Orbit.

-- Certification Fee is $75 and includes Microcosmic Orbit testing.

$50 is required of Other Tests and Upgrades.

HTIA Certification Requirements for Full Instructors "UPGRADING"

GENERAL

1. To get certified beyond the basic full instructor status, the instructor must have been an active dues paying member of the HTIA for the previous year (late payments accepted).

2. There is a $50. testing fee. If you pass there is a $25. administrative fee for putting this information into the Healing Tao system and website.

3. You may not test for certification in any area prior to becoming a full instructor (100 hours prerequisite, 4 weeks instructor training, two years practice in most cases).

4. At least one senior instructor must be present at testing.

5. Must study the available books/audio/videos relevant to the subject.

IRON SHIRT I

1. Must take Iron Shirt 1-2-3 one time either during or after the full instructor certification training.

2. Total training hours in Iron Shirt must be at least 80 hours (two week long retreats or a combination of weekend and full week retreats).

3. It is possible to certify DURING the Iron Shirt week of full instructor training for Iron Shirt 1 only.

4. To certify for Iron Shirt 2 & 3 you must first teach Iron Shirt 1 for one year, and take an extra one week training (40 hours) in Iron Shirt 1-2-3.

5. During testing, the trainee should stand for minimum total of 45 minutes in various postures, including pushes to test stability.

FUSION OF FIVE ELEMENTS

1. Must first pass either Iron Shirt or Tai Chi certification to establish ability to ground.

2. Must re-take Fusion 1-2-3 AFTER having become full instructor. This means ideally one has taken it three times: as a prerequisite, as part of full instructor certification, and as part of post-certification training. This should total to 100 hours. If Fusion was not taken as part of instructor certification, it must be taken twice again.

3. Must take Lesser Kan & Li from qualified instructor.

TAI CHI CHI KUNG

1. Possible to certify DURING the full instructor certification process.

2. Total of 80 hours training required (can included 40 hours for week retreat during certification process).

3. Best to have multiple instructors present for testing.

HEALING LOVE

1. Must first certify in Iron Shirt or Tai Chi.

2. Must have taught the Microcosmic orbit for at least two years.

3. Must take AFTER full instructor certification two days training (16 hours each) in BOTH Fusion of the Five Elements 1,2, or 3 AND Healing Love.

4. Must take Lesser Kan & Li.

3) Applicants must write a letter of why they want to be an instructor. (Recommended 300 words)

4) Applicants need a strong letter of recommendation from one HTIA member certified Healing Tao Instructor.

*Please note: If you do not have two years of previous training, you can take the teacher training intensive but you will be a Provisional Associate Instructor until two years of practice is met.
