Premise behind Chi Kung (Qigong) PDF Print E-mail

The basic premise behind Chi Kung is that your entire body is filled with channels or "meridians" through

which energy or "Chi" flows. While Acupuncture uses needles to improve this flow, Chi Kung allows you to do it yourself using only your breath, movement, and the intention of your mind. When you are healthy, your energy is flows smoothly. Sickness occurs when your energy gets blocked or slowed down reducing the body's efficiency. While there are many culprits for blocked or "stagnant" chi, one of the most common is emotional and psychological distress.
